trying to hook up a toggle switch to turn the engine on and off, been trying everything but as far as I can get is hooking up 1 wire to the black wire I disconnected from the red on-off switch on engine and then the engine will start but I cant' get it to turn off unless I touch the other wire from the toggle switch to metal, but if I keep that wire grounded to metal all the time then the motor won't start, any suggestions?

I ran two wires from the toggle switch on the dash down to the engine. The blue wire is the ground from the dash toggle switch to a ring terminal grounded to the engine block. The white wire runs from the dash toggle switch down to a bullet connector and a has a second short section of wire that piggybacks of of the same bullet connector. With this wiring both switches are functional, but you could unplug the motor switch and plug the low oil switch into the same connection and then you would just have the toggle on the dash.

Thanks, I just unhooked the oil sensor altogether and the engine switch, then ran a wire from the toggle on the dash down to the wire going into the engine and another wire from the toggle to the engine block for ground and that wouldn't work, I unhooked the ground wire and engine would run with just the 1 wire to the engine which seems really odd but I will try it your way and see what happens.
