Mike, so sorry for the loss of your Grandpa, it is good he didn't suffer long though. Always look back at the fond memories that you have of him, he will be in your heart forever!

It was his time, Mike. Good that you were there. My condolences to you and your family.

My grandfather also died at 89, when I was only 12. For as far back as I can remember, he had dementia. We never said 2 words to one another. Always remember the good times.

Thanks guys.

He had an infectious smile, and a voracious appetite for Italian food (parents being from Italy and all). Took me to my first Patriots game, first trip to Disney, etc. Great husband to my (departed) grandmother.

Lots of good memories.

Funeral was yesterday, beautiful ceremony with lots of family and friends in attendance. Military honors at the grave site were very moving as well. We decided that the flag should be presented to my nephew, who is the oldest of the great-grandchildren.
