He had an infectious smile, and a voracious appetite for Italian food (parents being from Italy and all). Took me to my first Patriots game, first trip to Disney, etc. Great husband to my (departed) grandmother.
Funeral was yesterday, beautiful ceremony with lots of family and friends in attendance. Military honors at the grave site were very moving as well. We decided that the flag should be presented to my nephew, who is the oldest of the great-grandchildren.
I lost a school mate and friend today. Army vet, cop, EMT for the last 35+ years. My wife grew up with him in the firehouse and he has given his life to helping others. Prostate cancer got him after 3 weeks of the prognosis.
He is and will be a hero in my small town!
RIP Randy.
