Power King FEL Backhoe Price Check

11212 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Larry LGT 165
I'm new to the world of powerking/economy tractor. I saw this tractor for sale on the side of the road yesterday. Checked it out with a knowledgeable (in all things tractor) neighbor and everything on the unit looks to be in good working order. 14 horse Kohler starts right up with NO smoke. It has dual transmissions and all the hydraulics operate as they should. I think that I can probably get the the tractor for $2250. I haven't been able to find much info on this tractor (which I believe is a terramite 2) on the web. From what I have found it looks like the price is good. Does anyone have experience with this tractor? I want it for small projects around the house (including digging 4' deep trench fr outdoor water hydrants). Think it will be up to the task? What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It looks very nice for something that is 40-50 yrs old.

imo, the price is below what I have seen the asking prices for
similar units in Ohio and Inidiana in the last couple of years.
Don't know if they sold, and for what $$.

As far as useability and doing the tasks you have mentioned.
Probably, just don't get in a hurry.
Where else are you going to get something to do those tasks for
that money and still have something left to use or resell

Good luck. Chuck

Dont see them too often with a back hoe. Im sure must PK lovers will tell you if it runs and works thats an excellent price.
Go get it before it's gone!
A loader and a hoe and a running tractor for that price. I'd meet the seller at the Detroit/Windsor border anytime. Even if you have to spend next winter rebushing a few things and replacing some hoses, it is a steal. Just power wash and spray it orange and you will get $5000 here because you just can't find them.

Yeah that is a real good price, I think it'd be a good price 1k more than that.
Thanks everyone for the advice, I bought the tractor on monday:thThumbsU. Did a little digging yesterday with the loader and am really impressed with the power of the 14 hp Kohler. I really never knew much about Economy / powerking tractors, but the more I look and use the this tractor the more I like it! Now I just got to build a pole barn to house it :trink40:.

I absolutely love my 1618 backhoe /FEL. I do not own a wheelbarrow anymore.
My 11 year-old stepson is digging a pond with it. We dug new septic drain fields last summer. I think every man NEEDS a small front end loader!

Hey Sparkwiz, totally agree with you. This is my first summer with a GT FEL and it amazes me what it will do. I get frustrated when I can't find a job to do with it. Just dug a trench over 2' deep and about 75' long to remove 24 old cedar tree roots that had grown over 20' tall and died. A 37 year old Kohler K and she never complained for one second. Same with the hydro, it just kept churning the tires.

If he's got so much as half an acre, a man needs a GT FEL. It otta be a law.:fing02:

And a pond, don't be giving me any ideas.:ROF
