Farm King right?

We use to have one and tuned it up. It would start at the hit of the key.

Didnt have any trouble what so ever getting $350 out of it but i see yours has been slightly customized in the cosmetics department so...my guess is good as your's. 350 or less. Or more. Maybee ask 400 that way you got room to be talked down. "So they think" :fing32:

So was this one. a 46 inch. You may not even have any trouble getting 400 FIRM. At the time, we just needed to get rid of ours for room. One of the worst things i did i think but just ran out of room. That thing was shaft driven and all.

That was one of the FEW very best of an MTD product i've ever seen. That says alot being from MTD.

Wouldnt you know the guy that baught it literally ran the tractor in the ground so to speak. Far as i know it sets just like before we got it. Gathering more dust.

Personally, I stay away from MTD's, but these particular tractors were actually built pretty nice. I don't think you'd have a problem getting $350 for it.

Do you have anymore pictures so that we can see what you have including the work you did?

I hate to nitpick, but if you list it for sale, and you say it's had a mild restore you would be incorrect. if anything it's been spruced up, or refurbished.

could we see some more pics and perhaps a list of what's been done with the 'mild restore' ?

I'd kep it!..:D You'll likely regret getting rid of it,(like some of the others who responded that had one!)..you'll need to find a tube frame Bolens,or an Ingersoll, old Case,or Simplicity/Jacobsen shaft driven tractor to replace it with,if you dont want to feel you cheated yourself..and good luck finding one for less than 500 bucks, and if you do it'll likely be in tough shape..

If I had a MTD 990 with shaft drive and hydraulic drive & lift,I'd hang onto it..
but if your willing to trade it for two Sears "Customs" I'd be glad to swap with ya!..

I agree with tractor-holic, I hope my post wasn't meant to discourage, but I agree that i'd just keep it. need money? do some work with the tractor to earn some money to buy a new one.
