Does anyone have experience with putting after market lights on for plowing/blowing snow ?? How much will the electrical system handle with the electric winch system in use ?? Wattage ?? How many ?? What type of lights ?? Power source from where ?? Tie into exsisting and use exsisting switch, or go seperate ?? A fuseable link would be a given...?? Have a great day guys, and thank you.

On a 12 volt system multiply volts X Altinator amps = total watt out put.

12 x Alt Amp = Total watts available Subtract head lights watts and any other electrial draw what is left is what is avilable to run plow lights.
Hope this helps

I'd use a seperate switch and a relay for any added lights. Wire the new switch so that it only has power when the key switch is on, that way even if you forget to turn the switch off the lights will go off when you shut the machine off.
