Sounds like a great conversion if adapters, etc, are available. Seems like I saw a few pics on some of the 8N sites with flathead installations. Years ago one of the truck shops I worked in had a trailer mounted stick welder powered by a Ford flathead V8. That baby just purred for hours, ran like a top.
