Pics Of Liquid Filled Rims After 7 Years

Just thought I'd share some pics of the rims that came with my X475 that were liquid filled for 7 years. The worst of pitting was in middle of rims. Alot of paint bubbling everwhere else. A razor blade worked great for pealing the bubbled paint off. Peeled very easliy. Repainted after they were cleaned of corrosion.

You took the picture after you cleaned the rust up?
Doesn't look too bad. I've repainted some off of GT's that didn't have them liquid filled and they were worse than that!
What were they filled with?
What were they filled with?
:ditto::ditto:

And what did you repaint them with as well?
When I swaped out tires my rims looked worse than that but I think someone put fix a flat in mine. I hope you stepped up and used self etching primer at least on the bare metal. It cost a bit more but will be well worth it if you're going to keep the tractor for amy time. Remeber, it doesn't matter how nice of a finish coat you put on if the base is cheap or junk it will eventually peel off.

Used the John Deere primer and yellow paint. I've found it's the best paint in a rattle can you can buy. Wish I would have taken pics right after dismounting tires.

Not real sure. To me it looked like tan colored water. It wasn't an oily residue or anything because it dried out overnight what little was left in tires. When I 1st removed the valve core the water was shooting out a good 8 ft. and did so for a min. or so before gradually dying down. Thats best I can describe it.

:banghead3 to bad they are so dang expensive for the big machines.. One set a year is all i can afford.. i need five more sets.. :thSick:
These are some front rims off a 112 that I painted. There was water inside when I broke them down, but probably from the tires going flat and the bead breaking allowing water to leak in. Over time they can get pretty nasty.

After looking at all other pics of rims I'm beginning to wonder if the previous PO of mine was a little off on number of years tires were loaded....like maybe instead of 7 more like a couple???? Mine were nothing compared to these I've seen.
