no luck with identifying it as yet, hopefully these pictures may help. Have to wonder if its an english mower, as the throttle control etc have an "old english motorcycle" look to them...and a push on/off fuel tap.
Its pretty heavy to pick up but light to push..put one of my bricktops beside it as a size comparison..its an alloy body with a 'star' shaped blade...turns over with good compression and yep, the head gasket looks to have been sealed up with gasket cement at some stage.
I'd say with some tinkering it may run..will wait and see.
Hopefully someone may be able to help with possible engine makes etc...thanks![/ATTACH]

I can't tell, does it look like some letters in a curve on the front of the deck?

I like the style of that thing, the round deck, the large wheels, stylish engine. During that era, a lot of American mowers looked like a square box.

There was (is) a sticker or plaque on the front of the deck as I have shown in this photo here.

The engine looks similar to the old "Power Products" (later Tecumseh) 2-cycle. Similar in design to the A-series OMC engine as well. I assume the large objects sticking out the sides are the muffler and air filter/carb. Looks to be a piston-port engine. Other than that, I have no idea what that thing is...but it sure looks cool! Rear discharge scares me.

After a quick clean off I can see it has an AMAL carb, with 343/10 stamped on it, the body has 77806 stamped by the left front wheel.
yes, has air cleaner on one side, exhaust on the other.....

Well got her running today...will post a video tomorrow if I can...made a new head gasket and it has heaps of compression now, almost too much to pull with a rope wrapped round the top pulley..quite a slow revving 2 cycle. Will put up a thread when I've videoed it..was going to do it today but the wife wanted to go shopping, and stupidly agreed..stupidly co she's asian..and asian wife + shopping equals all afternoon...lol
