Nice find. They are really nice for small yards or mowing around alot of obstacles. Also you can still get alot of the parts for it from your JD dealer too.
I can't say congrats On a R70 The Only Deere I owned That I would consider a Lemon design(or Just My Kryptonite). Because the drive sprocket is Just Hammered Into Place. They Only Time of the Year that the R70 worked well for Me was winter When Plowing snow with a Deere 38inch Blade. But I swear in the summer that drive sprocket would fall out of the Frame every other week Now Based on My experience I will say Good Luck with It You going to need it I traded the R70 In On a Used JD 130 as soon as I could:thThumbsU

Sarge- thanks for the heads up, I will check the chain and drive sprocket. I don't really plan to use it (that's what the x465 and x485 are for) this is more just to restore. Thanks for your input
