Snagged a nice 425 that has an issue I can't figure out. The air filter base that the wing screws screw into over the air filter is stripped. I looked at the JD parts website and they list 2 based upon something other than the serial #.

How do I order the correct one?

It's based on your engine model number. What is it? It will be something like one of the following FD# below. The important part is the following 4 numbers/letters.

M123488 Case 1 X (FD620D-AS02, BS02)
M123489 Case 1 X (FD620D-CS02, DS02, ES02, FS02, GS02)
M123490 Case 1 X (FD620D-AS01)
M125449 Case 1 X (FD620D-BS01, CS01, DS01, ES01, FS01)

The difference is on the early model 425 like mine there are 2 small hose barb's on the bottom right side of the base. One is for the air filter indicator and the other is for the carb vent solenoid. On the later model they did away with the air filter restriction indicator and also they went to the electric fuel shutoff solenoid and did away with the carb vent solenoid,so the two hose barbs were not needed.
