Ran when parked..:)
812 or 814 could not find serial number to determine year. The pictures describe what I have and the condition. The 40" deck spindles all turn freely, but would be best if rebuilt. Also have a "bucket" of transmission gears, the motor, pto and axle shafts had been sold when I bought it. Is it worth $150.00 if I throw in a rotary plow?

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Bolt today when I met him and his helper to pick up this nice little package. What a great guy and I really enjoyed the conversation and the face to face meeting. I was treated more than fairly with this deal too, monetarily and a mid-point meeting place. I got a nice load of stuff for a very very fair price. Thank you SB. :thanku:

Here's the haul:

A good seat pan. There's a good hood under there too:

A frame full of parts. More on that in a minute.

A nice, old rotary plow. It seems to be a good one. Ignore the flange laying on top of the case. It's just laying there.

A cracked frame with several good parts including a good steering sector, wheel and center cap, throttle and choke cables, an anmeter, battery tray and tank bolts, a good gas tank, directional lever, mower lift mechanism, all of the shifter linkages and cover plate, and several more good parts.

A disassembled transmission. It was opened just to remove the PTO clutch. All of the gears appear to be good. Another front axle is visible there too.

A set of good ag tires on good wheels:

A good 50" mowing deck. So far as I can tell, all it needs is a belt and the belt covers.

More on the front axle: have any of you seen this style tie rods before? I looked at all of the 800 Series IPL's and didn't see this style of any of them. They are even different from the 8000 Series with rack and pinion. Oh well, they're good with very little slack. I can't say the same for the ones on my 816.

Alright, DJ :fing02: What are your plans for it? Purely parts? And it never hurts to have another rotary plow around.

I wonder how those tread bars got ripped out of the side of that tire!

I really hadn't thought of it as more than a parts tractor, but now that I think about it, it's mostly there minus the clutches, PTO, and engine. Not really, the frame has been broken and a repair attempted. I think parts is the way to go.

I was told that the mowing deck his the thread and took them off. I'll still use them.

Nice pile of parts! That trans case is painted inside so it should be pre 74 and have a posi diff. Did it have splined clutches or keyed? Does the frame latches for the mower deck swing forward or backward? I never seen tie-rods like that before might be homemade replacements. Jason

As soon as I saw the painted case I thought about the posi-trac differential, but sadly, the differential, axles, and clutches are all gone. Of course, I knew that going in, it wasn't hidden from me or anything of the sort. The clutch shafts are still in the case though and they are keyed.

I'm nearly certain the mower latches swing to the front of the tractor to unhook. I'll take a closer look today during the unload and the great tuck and stash.

I'm very intrigued by the tie rods. There's enough slop in my 816 tie rods that using these or duplicating them with modern greaseable versions look to be right up my alley.

The running boards are also missing the 2 holes at the back to mount the steering brake heel pedals. I'm going to say it's a 1971 or 1972. Check the casting date on the side of the trans.

DJ, the seat pan and steering wheel center cap look awful inviting.

I'm just wondering what I would tell my wife what was in the big box that was delivered. I could'nt tell her that it's to replace the well rusted, and dented seat pan of an orphan816 that she still does'nt know about.

But then, there *are* other ways... the "wheels" are now turning.

I'll check that date first chance I get.

During the unloading this afternoon, I discovered why the tractor had a transmission in a bucket when SB bought it. I was also proven wrong on the axle shafts being gone. Have a look at this axle Jason.

It's no wonder Ellis likes you so much Dave. You're as devious as he is. :biglaugh:

I can fix up some kind of big box if you're interested in that pan Dave. I took some pics this afternoon just in case. There are two repairs in the pan located on the front edge where the pan bends around the upper corners of the transmission tunnel. They look like decent repairs though. There's also some curvature to the trailing edge but it's in good shape. There aren't any cracks around the seat bolt holes that I can tell.

The repairs can be seen in this pic.

The underside looks good too.

The hood is good too with only one little place in the leading edge.
