I wouldn't dare get a nose ring. My wife would, no doubt, lead me around by it!

Nose ring ,Ear rings Piercing's don't know how Many I pulled out of Private who forget to take them off In Uniform. Probably couldn't get away with that now In the Kinder and gentler Army we have now. But when I was a 1st sergeant in the 1990's You had better not let me catch you with it on. Because you would be bleeding. Did that a few Time's and they remember to check themselves before the came to My formations and I was a Gentle guy compared to most In the Battalion. Our aid station Physician assistant made me look like a P***y cat compared to his torture of Soldiers especially when they needed to be be check for VD  Because they always looked like this  when they came out of the Aid station (y)

Went on a gambling/drinking escapade with some buddies some 25 odd years ago when I used to carouse and on the way back from Vicksburg with our sizable winnings they stopped at a Walmart. I went to sleep in the back seat when all of a sudden bang and my ear was in excruciating pain. I thought someone had tried to carjack us and shot me. It seams those drunk bozos got their ears pierced inside and did not want me to be left out. They got a WM assistant to go out to the car with them and nailed me. Needless to say our wives were not enthused when we showed them and mine was gone immediately with only a small hole as a memento.

I had to do the earring thing ~1985 when I was a 15y/o punk in Houston. Kept it till I moved to Arkansas and started diesel mechanic school in 1988. Just got tired off the insults from the rednecks I was around all the time.

Now those are some true friends! And one dedicated Walmart employee :ROFLMAO:

I come a pretty old school, traditional family so the thought to get an earring or any piercing never even crossed my mind. I'd still be embarrassed to go in front of my grandfather wearing an earring. Then when everyone was getting tattoos in high school I remember thinking "I don't really want anything written on me." Then also remembered being told as child after getting ahold of a marker "you don't draw on the walls or on yourself." I guess that stuck with me, lmao. Plus my Dad still would've kicked my ***.

Now I work with kids not much younger than myself that look like pin cushions and have tattoos that cost more than their cars.

Well all earrings aside and back to the topic at hand, I took a ride over to Home Depot today and double checked to make sure the trailer they had was the same as the trailer Don measured, and it is. 60" inside the rails. So I went in and talked to the guy at the rental counter and he said they won't reserve it for more than a half hour or so, but he also said it doesn't get rented out that often so it should still be there. And if not, the next closest store has one as do several other area stores. The weather forecast for Monday is mostly sunny and a low chance of precipitation for both Pittsburgh and Reading, so things are looking good.

Sounds good. Don't forget to take some straps with you to strap it down.

Joe, you also might want to consider taking a bungee cord with you to strap the seat down. If not it will bounce all the way home every time the trailer hits a bump in the road. Also, once you get it loaded remove the key so those same bumps don’t cause it to fall out on the ride home. Good luck on your trip and don’t forget to take lots of pictures.

Definitely YES. You can even thread the keyring thru your earring hole. :)

Great ideas, I was going to ask if anyone had any suggestions for securing things. I would've taken the key out but I didn't even think about the seat. I'll be bringing lots of straps and bungee cords. I'm thinking two ratchet straps around the front axle and two around the rear axle should hold it pretty well. If somebody has a better idea let me know. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures 👍

I always attach to the front bumper and rear hitch plate. It is a good idea to strap the seat down and remove the key. If you put the tractor on backwards, be SURE to strap the hood down.

Thanks Joel. I was hoping someone would chime in on where a good place to tie down is. I'm still not really familiar with these tractors, so I wasn't sure if there would be a better place to tie down. Do you just go straight through the hole on the hitch plate?

Also does anyone know if these tractors are front or rear heavy? I want to load the trailer so the weight is biased toward the front of the trailer to keep it stable.

I'll make sure to pull that key out, occasionally the key for my 1525 falls out of the ignition. Usually it winds up on the footrest but I have lost it in the yard before.

Here is a 3000 series being parted out with a 54 plow, front hitch, 1 aux line and spool valve pretty close to you.
