I have looked at "The List" a couple of times since getting the Duck. When looking at the engine specific points I wonder if the same would apply to the Yanmar. Not too sure I want to go as far as pulling the head... :swow:

Since all the other componets are the same the list is a good baseline, but opinions on the engine stuff would be welcome.

deerenut, just post up what you would do differently with the Yanmar, and we'll incorporate it.

I may as well extend an open invitation to Stoonboy or any of the 332 gang to add some diesel specifics to the list.

If I am to be completely honest here, I do understand quite a bit as I read and research the heck out of anything that interests me. That being said, my practical experience is lacking. I have never even rebuilt a carburetor. I maintain my equipment, but never tore into a machine. "The List" may be beyond anything I have ever done mechanically. :banghead3

I have been a serious woodworker in the past and had a great shop where we lived before. As the family grew we needed a larger space. The trade-off was not having a good shop, now I have a drafty old barn with dirt floors (a little bit of concrete) Slowly that is coming together... :fing32:

It would be super if the other owners of Yanmar engine would chime in. I am not too sure I could offer as much as the group.
