Hi their, i got an onan ccka cast iron engine on my 450 commercial 2 cyl, and has no spark. I changed the points and condenser, and it worked for a while and stopped firing. I tried a new coil and still, no spark. I am getting power to the coil, so that is ok. I saw this tower grey colored thing that went to the points, and think it is a resistor or something. I have no schematis so can someone help me figure out what this thing is, and what wires go where. Im lost. Thanks mike.

The resistor that you see is likely bad, see if you get power out of it with the points open, and check for a grounded wire going from coil to res. to points.

Take the 2 wires Off the coil, Take a jumper From the battery + to the coil + Hook the condensor to the - (neg) side Take a plug (new) hook it up a plug wire. Short the neg, side of the coil , just second tery, it should fire. If No fire, Possable Coil Failure;; Life is good;:greendr:
