onan motor sale or trade

sorry for wrong spot but seeing as its off a suburban i hope this is ok.

i cannot find a carb for my onan 16 so looks like ill be repowering it if anyone needs the motor i have which includes a new starter i will be selling it to fund repowering only things missing is the carb , and muffler it is in middle tn i can possibly meet with someone. will also trade for smaller running motor

Did you check with Boomers_influence here at MTF? He is our used onan parts guy. I have purchased a few things from him and I have been very happy.

im working to fix this bad onan carb problem..as soon as it warms up ive got an adapter i made to swap on another carb...dont wanna tell my secret till i see if it works that way no one wastes their time trying it...if i get it to work, im gonna try and maybe market it as a replacement setup! and the best part, im gonna use a modern day carb!

i would love to make it work but need it going asap and since the whole carb is gone repower looks like best bet. i am near cookeville tn i do not know if bs/mf have not looked slow crawler pm me with what your willing to trade or pay sorry everyone else thenks for the links to try but i will not be going near any of you all ever i do not believe

I have a carb body with the throttle shafts and butterflies but everything else is missing. BUT, the master carb overhaul kit comes with EVERYTHING else besides the float which you would want to upgrade to the brass float anyways. If you are interested, you can have it for the cost of postage, or, I can buy the parts and build it for you and you can pay for parts and shipping.

I <3 Onan carbs. You can usually get them for around 80 bucks. Definitely cheaper than a repower.

Not trying to knock out your business venture but I beat my head against the wall on my onan carb untill i check the two halves for flatness. A flat plate and a piece of sanding paper is all it took to find out that both pieces were bowed to bad to seal on the gasket.

jcsd4438 you are about to wear me out! As mentioned, you may be the first person on these boards to opt for a repower before trying to sort the carb out. If you don't have enough time to figure out the carb, then how are you going to have time to do a repower? What's the rush, snow coming?

Accept this in the spirit intended, which is to help you get your equipment going by taking the most direct and efficient route.

my one owner, ( me ) B48M 1982 case has NEVER had the carb rebuilt,
i installed the onan brass float in about 1997.

I will be watching and waiting. Hopes it works out. I still have some work to do to my BF/MS. Dont know if its the carb still giving problems or not. I am thinking of renaming my D-160 to "HOG" because it likes the gas.
