I have a 1978 Lawnboy, F engine self propelled mower. I have lost most of the pull. Bought new rollers and put them on the correct way. Did some research and the gap between the rollers and the wheels is supposed to be 3/16" Mine is far greater. My wheels have some miles on them but I do not think new ones will put it within that range. Did more research and found link below (page 10-21). Discusses loosening shoulder bolt to adjust axle. I did it but did not find that this allowed axle to be adjusted. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Toby. I will try it again. Is the spring on the other side of the clutch or on the other side (left wheel)? Maybe I am missing the spring?

The big spring on left side. It puts pressure on the bolt you're trying to adjust. You either have to push down on the mower and try to tighten up that adjusting bolt or just pop the spring off and that gets rid of the tension so you can easily adjust.
