I know! This place is great for having parts that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else locally.

No, no advice. It really comes down to common sense though, keep them greased. They probably hadn't been greased for years if at all. The auger gearbox was bone dry when I opened it up too. That likely explained the brass sun gear shavings.

I received an email stating that the decals were ready, so I picked them up this morning. I'm very happy with the way they turned out. They may look slightly dark in the pic (especially the white lettering and boarder). They are actually pure white but my camera's batt. was very low when I took the pic. The owner of the place turned out to be a great guy too. We talked for a while. When I told him that others are also occasionally looking to have odd ball decals made up, he said he could make them as long as he has a pic. He told me that making the DB's decals was a nice diversion for him since most of his work is commercial. I have his contact info if anyone might be interested.

I also have a Tecumseh carb. bowl gasket kit on its way. The carb. decided to start leaking when I took the DB out for its test the other day. I thought that I had replaced the gasket along with the needle and other parts last year but maybe I didn't. I'm going to try installing them with the DB in its service position. Otherwise, I'll have to remove the carb which is kind of a pain.

Those decals look great, Dave. Not dark at all.

The hardest part about decals is designing them. Once they are designed and the file is saved, it’s just a few clicks and they print out. It’s nice to have spares for the upcoming blizzard :ROFLMAO:

What blizzard?? I haven't heard anything from Punxsutawney Tim. :D
The scary thing is, he's probably working on Snow Dance version 3.0 since the last two didn't work yet...

Not much new. I removed the carb. bowl and found what appeared to be some more grain of sand sized pieces of fuel line in it, so I removed the carb. and took it apart again for cleaning. At least it made installing the new bowl gasket easier. No more leaks and the DB is running good again. I also touched up the wheels and installed the belt guard.
