Keep hunting for a service manual for your engine. My Onan says ""Normal oil pressure should be 30 psi (207 kPa) or higher when the engine is at normal operating temperature." _ yes, I know it is a totally different engine, just put it out there as a frame of reference.

these tractors r not like a car built to last 200,000 miles.. most tractors today r designed to last about 10 years .. some barely last over a year.. Kohler did make a good engine with the Command series.. but the Courage ones have been a flop in my book.. I've not herd any reports on the Courage 'V' twin models tho.. I think they also changed their name too

Hi lorraine984, does your engine/tractor have an low oil pressure warning / shutdown system? I had a Husqvana with a 20 hp Kohler Courage single and from new it never had over 25 PSI oil pressure like you I wondered about it and asked the dealer and the maintenance tech told me that was good, so that's what it had and still has I sure, as posted the Courage singles are not good engine, but I've heard (n0 first hand experience) that the V twins are a better engine.

gb thanks, no I don't have low oil warning/shut down sys, that is why I put in a pressure gauge, if 25 psi works for you,it should be fine for me

Although I'd probably prefer to see a higher reading, 25 PSI should be totally adequate.
Using a synthetic might also be lowering your PSI a bit because it's thinner at pretty much any temperature the oil will see.

Oil pressure alone, assuming you have "some", is probably less important than oil film strength.
Even 100 PSI doesn't offer much support to a bearing surface that may be less than a small fraction of a sq-in.
