I use a normal band type wrench. You just have to squeak it in between the filter and the little drain/drip pan. It also helps if your wrench has a swivel head.
That will work, or if you didn't over-torque the old filter installing it, your bare hands should work too.I use a normal band type wrench. You just have to squeak it in between the filter and the little drain/drip pan. It also helps if your wrench has a swivel head.
This will be my first time changing the oil on this one. It's draining as i type!I'm gonna get a filter in the morning. That will work, or if you didn't over-torque the old filter installing it, your bare hands should work too.
Mine will always vibrate loose if I only hand tighten it. So I always give it a 1/2 turn or so past hand tight. That will work, or if you didn't over-torque the old filter installing it, your bare hands should work too.
One should always tighten a filter about 3/4 turn or slightly more after the gasket makes contact. This is probably more than one could tighten the filter by hand and is necessary so that vibration cannot unknowingly loosen the filter to the point that the oil leaks out and lets the engine sieze.I put mine on hand tight, and use a pair of channel-lock pliers to get it loose to take off.
