mowing with the cub yesterday, it is a 1872 super, i noticed it started smoing some. shut wit off and took side panels off and when i raised the hood there is oil all over the place. the top of the motor especially. looks to be coming from the breather. it is a 99 1872 super, 18 hp kohler twin cyl. what do i look at first? it run smooth, no miss, no knocks. any help would be appreiciated.

In the past when our GT was just slightly overfilled the oil would suck up threw the air filter when the throttle was quickly lowered. (now if you ease the throttle down it's OK)

Since I got some clear plastic hose at TSC now when there's an over fill I just vampire it out real easy.

It's a simple fix just clean up, replace the air filter. I don't recommend you oil up your pre filter either...just stay on top of it with more frequent cleaning with compressed air every 3 hrs or less.

Another reason could be the dip stick wasn't fastened securely. Here's hoping it's a simple fix.:trink39:
