The M18 engine takes 2 quarts with filter. Without filter, 1.5 quarts.

1.5 quarts unless you have a filter and then it takes 2 qts.
Check the dipstick after running and letting it sit for 30 minutes. Top off as needed to maintain the full mark on the dipstick.
