Hello again - I got my Carburator rebuilt and it seems to work good, and the jets are adjustable. I set out to rebuild my Governor and quickly realized that the standard 8N BOK12502 will not work. The lower race has the large bearing around 1 1/4 inch across and around 1/4 inch thick. The lower race bearing in my 8N governor looks identical to the bearing (thrust bearing) that is located on the front end of the drive assembly. Also, the bearing base in my governor cannot accomodate the large bearing that came on the lower race in the kit.
The next issue is the main ball bearings that came with the kit are much smaller than my existing bearings. I cant help but think that the PO may have rebuilt the Governor and utilized an alternative drive assembly, it appears on the outside to be the regular 8N governor, and many of the internals are like the standard, but the lower race and bearing base are definately different, any experience out there on this, There are flat spot on the balls as well as the lower race bearing surface, so I am sure a rebuild is in order, but I am having trouble finding parts.
My wifes digital camera tore up and she had to send it in for service, so I can post some pix once it comes back .
Thanks for any help, my tractor starts and runs, but doesnt govern well yet, but cant wait to do some bush hoggin and blading the gravel. Take Care
