I have a MF 35 with a Z134 gasser, was running poorly then got worse. When I took the valve cover off I could see the rocker arm assembly is in sad shape, when I removed it oil gallery for it is completely dry, even the head has no oil laying on it. the engine carries normal oil pressure when running. The 4 bolt holes that bolt the rocker shaft down have oil in them, what could be the reason the oil is not getting up to the rocker shaft assembly

Tough to say. You will likely need to get into the engine more.

Do you have oil pressure?
The pump may be worn and not pressurizing the system properly.
The oil pickup might have or may be breaking off.
There could be sludge in the system and blocking some passageways.

Hope you were able to sort out something by now.

Get yourself oily dirty:
1. Change oil and filter.
2: No use in starting it yet.
3. Lift rocker assembly.
4: Use pokers on all oiling ports.
5: Blow out all of those oiling ports.
6: Install rocker (Torq. to 75 ft.-Lbs) assembly, oil assembly liberally and adjusts valves (cold 0.015, hot 0.013).
start your beauty and confirm good oil pressure and rocker arms get oil flowing.
7: Pls. install a new “cork” valve cover gasket & install the cover.
8: Enjoy a nice tractor.
