Okay,
so I was Sears and I saw a guy (local to me) paying $10 to have them pick up his 10 yr old not working tractor. I offer to pick up it for free when ever is convienent for him. I get the call and off I went.

Needless to say, I am reasonably inclined but have not a lot of knowledge of tractors, motors etc..

I tore into it last night and found out what happened. I tore the motor down in the chasis and have yet to figure out how to get it off the chasis. All the nuts are off the 4 bolts at the bottom of the engine. I would think all I had to do is just remove the drive belt and lift the motor.

Any advise is helpful.

btw, the engine leaked and dried up, snapped a rod. 19.5hp b&s 42e707 and looks exactly like the 21hp in the lt1000 tractor motor swap that is a sticky above.

I did not take the bolts out cause I thought it would just lift off. It doesn't have a electric pto, it's kinda old. I didn't take the pulleys off cause I was hoping to do that after I took it off the chasis. I gave it a bunch of shot with a little 1lb hammer, I will give it a nice "how ya doin" in trhe morning. Been working on the honey do list and there is more than enough to keep me busy for this week while on vacation. If I stop the HDL for the mower, she will kill me.

Thanks for the replies and ideas. please keep them coming.
