hey all i have a 180 with the original 46 inch deck, i recently bought a used bagger, thought i got a deal at $100 http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=177774

well i get it home and i can't seem to make it fit, its a powerflo unit and to my research there was never one available for the 160 165 170 175 180 185. I have only come across non powered baggers.
Can i make this bagger work? is there a special pulley to work with the belt drive on the bagger?.......doh i thought this thing was complete:thanku:

Th powerflow drive is the only thing that doesn't fit?

On the 300 series, there is a double right spindle pulley and cover (and that 46" deck looks much like my 318's 46" deck).

Look up the part number for the right spindle on the 180, then look up the part number of the right spindle on a 318, see if they happen to be the same part number, and if so, order the double pulley and modify the deck pulley cover. Should use the same belt too I would think.

I have a 46" deck on my 185 and I also have the bagger and it does take the power flow. The belt uses a double pulley on the right spindle. The power flow connects to the deck via the belt, and two brackets. One on the front of the deck with a pin and a hairpin cotter and the other on the top of the back of the inside of the chute opening. That second bracket I just replaced as it had corroded in half, and yikes,it was $28! Good Luck, I hope this helps.:fing32:

one more thing, is there a mulching kit available for this deck? do you need different blades for mulching vs bagging vs side discharge?:trink40:

Not sure on the mulch kit, but I would guess there is one. As for blades, they make high lift for bagging, and a mulching blade too, but I don't think they are required.

They did make a mulching kit for the 46" deck. My 180 came with it already installed. John Deere called the kit a "Tricycler". The blades do look different than a standard side-discharge blade. From what I can tell the kit consists of an insert, the discharge cover, 3 blades and a sticker.
