Newbie here
Well I'm here to hopefully get help for my little lawn tractor. I have an old 1987 Lawn Chief that my wife's ex-husband bought brand new. Has the snow blower attachment as well. Its nothing special, was a 12hp with a 39 inch deck.
Well I'm at the point where I'm kind of fixing it up after it has sat for many years. About 7-8 years ago, the 12hp threw a rod and I parked it. Moved to a new house and it came with us but never got fixed.
About 3 years ago, I found a nice 18HP twin Briggs opposed (not v) for sale from my local junkyard. Replaced it and have been tinkering with it ever since. Never really used it, just trying to get all the bugs worked out.
As for me, I'm just a computer guy who loves fixing all sorts of mechanical things. Carb rebuilds are a fun hobby for me. There is just something zen like about taking an old filthy gummed up old carb and cleaning it up til like new and hopefully getting its host engine running well again.
I also have a weird hobby of loving old old computers from the '70s and early '80s.
