Hi to all, joined up here so I can learn more about a tractor that I am looking to buy. No tractor at this time, used to have a Cub Lo-Boy 154 and also Cub Cadet 107, both used for mowing grass when I lived in KY. Recently moved from CA to NM, now I have need for a tractor for general gravel driveway maintenance, snow plowing, and some cutting.

I live in east mountains area of Albuquerque, about 7200 ft elevation. I have about 400 ft of gravel driveway and definitely live in the snow area.

My hobbies are my old hot rods. I do pretty much all my own work except final paint, I don't have the patience or facilities for nice paint jobs. Here are a few of my current hot rods:
My 49 Ford COE, nothing stock, still use it to haul stuff it is a work truck

My 38 Chevy sedan (namesake, used this name on many forums)

My daily driver as long as not snowing or heavy rain 37 Ford Ute (utility coupe) from Australia

My 68 GTO that I have had for over 30 years, will never sell this car

Have a few other projects that are waiting to be worked on: 53 GMC pickup, 37 Chevy Ute (from Australia again) that is all original now, and a 55 Studebaker coupe that is a long term land speed racing car project. Enough to keep me busy for a few years. :fing20:

As for a tractor, I am kind of leaning to a 9N/2N/8N, since it fits my like of old stuff. But also considering just about anything that is in the less than 40 hp range. Glad to be here and will probably post some pics and questions once I find a tractor. Thanks for letting me join in, Terry

Welcome to MTF 38Chevy! Boy you have nice toys. Looking at your GTO brings back memories of my grandfather's / dad's 68 Tempest. Same color and black vinyl top. 350 poncho under the hood. Great pictures, we have a Car and Truck forum further on down the list so give the hot rod guys something to look at and post more info down there. Lastly , good luck with finding an N , lots of help here for those too. Take care...

The 49 Ford COE is sitting on a 74 GM 1-ton reg cab chassis. It has a 350 Chevy/T400 trans drivetrain. The top is chopped 4 inches, the suspension is air bags and drop spindles on the front. Rear is flipped on top of the leafs, plan to air bag it in the future. There is really not much left of the stock COE truck, it orig had a 14 ft flatbed and a Ford flathead V8 engine. Also sat about 3 feet hgher than it does now, and went about half as fast. I can drive 75 all day long, A/C blowing cold. Just takes gas, about 10 mpg at 75. It could support an tractor on the back, but it would require long ramps. Would look pretty cool though.

To the rest, thanks for the welcome, I have already been checking out the N board.

My GTO was my first car, I am about 1.5 months from 47 years old. I have had the GTO longer than anything else in my life. It needs a good restoration on the body (paint, top, new gaskets and seals), but it runs great. Still puts a smile on my face every time i drive it.

Welcome to the forum! I was stationed at Kirtland for a while when advising the NM National Guard and then later as a liaison for the Theater Air Command and Control Simulation facility. We had a house built up around where you live and unfortunately retired and moved back to PA without ever living in it. Great area up there, did a lot of dog training out on former Governor Kings ranch. A lot of folks don't realize how much snow they get on that side of the mountains! Great vehicles you have there and I really miss the Owl Cafe, YesterDaves, and several of the other good eateries there!
