Hello everyone my name is Dan and I live in central Minnesota. I have a house in town and I'm part owner of a old farm site with about 7ish acres of grass to cut.

I have my old mower yet, it's a 1992 john deere 320. Then last spring I bought a z445 for mowing at home and brought the 320 to the farm for mowing there. I had a ingersoll tractor with a snowblower for my driveway in town that didnt work that well so last fall I sold that and I bought a x475 and a single stage 46 blower.

Hey Dan, welcome. Great group here.
Is the 320 handling the 7 acres Ok? What kind of time is it taking for 7 acres of grass cutting with it? Just curious.

I've never mowed it by myself, we always mow together with 2 or 3 mowers. My brother has a f932 with a 72" cut and he can cover some quick. In the spring I'm gonna post the 320 for sale on craigslist and just use the x475 for mowing at the farm.

Here is a pic of my x475 from back in September when I bought it. Since then I made a weight bracket and have ~630lbs hanging on the rear, and added wheel weights, and the otc cab. I switched all the headlight and tail lights to led to conserve power for running my maradyne heater fan, my windshield fan, and my lightbar. I'm hoping to get away with not having to add the auxiliary alternator kit if I dont have to.

Well little update. We had lots of snow last winter and I sure am glad I updated from the old ingersoll to this x475! The OTC can did its job and kept me comfortable. It would be nice to step up to x748 but I'll have to wait to find a smoking deal on one.

I had no major problems with my 46 single stage, the chain was wore out so I replaced it. And I had to flip the cutting edge around due to having lots of wear. And I made some bigger drift cutters.

Last week I was on craigslist and noticed a x485 with snowblower option. I answered the ad and the seller was willing to sell the snowblower for $400! It was the older style 47 2 stage.

So I drove over there and picked it up. We agreed $400 for the package consisting of, snowblower, quick hitch, pto shaft, and pto shaft bracket. The impeller and impeller housing are pretty beat up, but I think I can weld a band inside the housing and make it better. Or prolly just sell it in fall and make a little money on it. I mainly wanted the quick hitch cuz it's the new style that you can leave the mow deck on, the hitch I got with my 46 is the older style that the mow deck would have to be removed.

Anyway after we loaded the blower into my truck the seller asked if I wanted weights too. I said SURE! So he gave me 4 weights AND the click n go mounts and weight bracket!

Reason I wanted the newer style quick hitch is cuz I bought a aftermarket attachment to mount a john deere thatcher to the quick hitch. I have to buy the thatcher yet tho. I want the 38" thatcher with the 8" extensions on each side. Not sure if I'm gonna buy a bagger or try to chop up the thatch with the mower. I cross that bridge when I get there.
