I've been doing a lot of research on tractors and I want a FEL and Backhoe, no mower deck. I'll be digging out smaller stumps, moving landscape rocks, putting in some French drains, and clearing some areas for landscaping. I'll also be adding to the size of my driveway, digging it out and leveling stone/gravel. I also plan to use a Box Blade and possibly a post hole digger. I'm also going to add a removable tooth bar to the FEL and sometimes use pallet forks.

I've looked at the JD 1025R, Kubota BX25, Mahindra EMax 22, Max 24, Max 26, Yanmar 221, 324, & 424, Massey 1720, New Holland Boomer 24, Branson 2400, and the Kioti CK2510. All of these dealers are reasonably close and I'd like to spend around 20k.

I didn't like the seating position on the Massey but the pricing was good.

The JD is really nice but the working capacity is a concern. I'm also concerned about the aluminum rear axle.

The Kubota has the lowest FEL capacity and I don't care for the FEL controls.

The Mahindra's were nice but I would pass on the 22. I liked the Max24 but it's pushing past the budget, and the Max 26 is killing the budget.

The New Holland is nice but I haven't read many positive reviews about it.

I really liked the 3 Yanmars and they seem well built but oddly, they don't have Diff Lock on any of them. They have some of the greatest small detail features that are nice and then others that seem poorly executed.

The Kioti weights the most, has the highest Backhoe capacity, and is very reasonably priced. It also has one of the highest PTO HP ratings.

I haven't seen the Branson in person yet but all the specs seem positive.

It really looks like the best "value" is the Yanmar or the Kioti. The Branson also seems capable but is probably last on my list because the dealer is the farthest from me.

All of the dealers seem very competent with trained service staff. All of the tractors have good warranties. I think I'm moving away from the true SCUT size and going toward the CUT size. The Kubota B & L series and JD 2025 series are beyond the budget.

I need some help from those in the know about these lesser known tractors. Whatever I buy this time will be mine for decades to come.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Here is another important consideration in your choice- the dealer. How far away is the dealer? Are you willing to travel for parts and service? Will they provide on-site service if necessary or provide transport of your equipment to their facility for repairs? How long have they been in business and carried the brand? How reputable and knowledgeable are their parts and service staff? Please consider these factors as part of your decision as they will affect your ownership experience for years after the purchase.

If you are considering a "task specific" machine,, why not consider a full sized machine?

The jobs you discuss will push the machines you mentioned to 100% of their capacity.

I prefer to operate a machine at 25% of its capacity, and never stress anything..

When the work is done, a functioning machine is MUCH easier to sell,
than a multi-repaired, abused machine.

Operating a lot at 100% will break any machine.

Just my thoughts,,,

I have all of the dealers of these machines fairly close to me and they all have been helpful and seem competent. They all seem to sell enough that the inventory is rolling through and they have good service techs as well.

In regard to FatKidRacer, the 1025R was quoted to me for $19,200 TLB, no deck from West Central Equipment in Butler, Pa. and most of the others brands were in the same ballpark for similar machines. The MF 1720 TLB was $17,800.

As I mentioned in my initial post, I'm not really looking for information on how to buy or why to buy a machine. I'm looking for some information on the Kioti and Yanmar in regard to long term durability and quality. If I had to pick today, it would be the Kioti, followed by the Yanmar 324/424.

the Japanese and Indian tractors might be "tougher" just due to there intended user group. i don't think any will attach and detach as easy as the JD. but i have only ever really studied the Mahindra and Kabota. no yanmar dealer around me.

next time im down near Pittsburgh i will have to stop in there because that's a good deal on a TLB from JD i think.

Go for the Kubota B3200 standard tractor or the premium B3030HST
The are some good used tractors out there with low hours for half the price of new ones.
I have 50 acres of property to maintain and 7 acres of lawn to mowe weekly plus all the fence to maintain.
I have 2 Kubota B3030HST tractors
1 with a front end loader and a 72 inch mid mount mower
The other only has a mid mount mower, both are used to mowe pastuers with a Woods HC54 bush hog.
They are excellent tractors very conservative on fuel, great power, easy to maintain and a pleasure to drive!
Best compact on the market even better than a Kubota B3350HST considering the B3350 has a DPF system on it that makes it more expensive and more prone to problems!
In my opinion the B series Kubotas are far better than the John Deer 3332r series and the Mahindra or the Kioti
