Hi I just bought my first Toro lawn mower. It's a 520Lxi with 500 hours. I would like to get a tiller for it. The research I've done says I need a model number 79375. There is a guy close to me with one for sale but he claims it was on a 520H. He wants 900.00 for it which seems kind of high to me? There is also a tiller near me that is model number 79370. That guy wants 100.00 for that one. Is there any easy way to make a 79370 tiller fit on a 520Lxi? Also if anyone has any advice or tips for me on the 520 I just bought it would be greatly appreciated. It has a kawisaki 20 liquid cooled V twin for an engine.

The 79375 tiller for the 5xi also requires the 100-3390 rear hitch. The problem with tillers is they are often sold without all the idlers etc. required to make them work. Study the manuals so you know what is required.

The $900 tiller and the 79370 should be the same tiller. I would wait for the correct model to show up. New Holland also used the 5xi series so there is another possibility for a used one.

So are you saying I could get the 79370 tiller even thou it's not listed for the XI model but I would need to get the right pulleys? Any idea on where I could buy the hitch?

The 79370 will not fit the 5xi.

What I was trying to tell you is the $100 and the $900 tillers should both be a model 79370 for the 300, 400 and 500-Series tractors.

Your 520Lxi is a 5xi-Series tractor and a completely different design.

You can still get the rear hitch from Toro for about $140.
The only used hitch available will be one that is with a used front dozer blade or a used 79375 tiller. Purchase one of those and get the hitch with it.

Have you looked under the transmission of your tractor? The rear hitch may already be there is the previous owner had a tiller or dozer blade.

79375 is the one you need and the 9900392 is a 1999 serial number. I don't know how they made it work on a 520-H.
The rear hitch appears to be in the photo with the loose parts.
