I just bought my first tractor this past weekend, Farmall H. I'm going to be using the tractor just for fun, I will be entering the tractor pulls in my town this year.

My question for some of you pro's out there is - I am leaking oil pretty good out of my "belly pump"???? I believe that is what it is called. To my understanding there are three places on this tractor that hold fluid - the engine - the rear end- and the hydraulic pump. If I do not have a use for that pump can I just let it run out of oil? That way it stops spitting oil out by the quart onto my shop floor.

My next question is that I am not turning as many RPM's as my buddies 2 H's are (they smoke me in road gear), what can I do inside the governor to get more RPM's out of the motor. My throttle linkage is opening it up all the way until it hit's the stop, so I figure the problem has to be inside the governor itself.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I agree with David, should just fix the leak, those pumps are worth alot of money, down the road you might want hydraulics,or even to sell it,
a tractor with hydraulics will fetch alot more than one without.

Just my 2 cents

Cool, that's what I was wanting to hear. I will probably take the lever off so that's it's not an issue or doesn't happen by accident.

Anybody on the Governor?

Anybody have any tips for me to squeeze some more ponies out of this horse?
