I just joined this group. I am looking to buy my first ever tractor. I was raised on a farm and when I went to college my dad had a Farmall Cub. before that we farmed with a mule. So I know what the south end of a north bound mule looks like. I still have my farm and need to bushhog about 13 acres to keep it from growing up. I am now 64 been retired for several years and trying to get more involved with my 40 acre farm. My cousin, who owns some land next to me, has been keeping it cut but he is selling all his equipment and calling it quits. He is 80. I am looking at a Case International 235 with a bushhog 1846qt loader. It has a cutter not bushhog brand, a box blade, 2 large tillers, and even a 16' trailer for $4750. is this a good buy and is this tractor large enough to just keep the place cut and maybe plant a few soybeans and green fields. Is the front end loader okay? The owner says he paid $2500 for the loader.
