New tires

Just got my new rear wheels with Dico tru power AT 26x12x12 tires for my 1988 jd318 and the fronts wheels should be arriving this week and I want to find out some information. For the fronts I will be installing 18x8.5x8 v61 5-ribs. The whole set of tires came off of a JD445. Can anyone tell me, as I want to load both rears and fronts, what size inner tubes I would need to install in the rear and front tires for loading?

From what I was told Dico was taken over by Titan who was bought by Carlisle so I guess I am running basically a Carlisle tire??? Is this correct?

You can borrow my fill adapter if you like, or just go see George down at Little Tire on Princess Ann St. He can order the tube if not in stock, and they can load them for you as well if you don't want to fool with it.

Hey D-Dogg thanks.

I wasn't sure if I should go with a tube the same size or slightly larger for loading. And I think I will take you up on your offer and borrow your fill adapter. May need you to demonstrate proper technique on one of the smaller fronts.

I will go out and purchase the calcium chloride this week what brand, if there is any in particular that are better than others, did you use to load yours with and what was the ratio of the mixture?

Hi Theo ,

Why not skip the inner tubes , don't use Calcium Chloride and fill your tires
with windshield washer fluid or a non toxic anti-freeze , it would be cheaper ,
IMO , just curious ???

x595,
I had chosen to go with the tubes because I have read or heard a number of conflicting reports of rims being rusted out or damaged by just about every product at one time or another except for some of the more expensive purposely designed products like rimguard. So the tubes were to serve as a bit of insurance isolating whatever I would eventually chose to load the tires with from the metal of the rims. But hey I am always open to advice and inexpensive alternatives that work.:fing32:
