HI, John! :MTF_wel2:

Whereabouts in MD? I'm near Damascus, myself.

If your engine cranks, but just won't start, I think the number one suspect to check first would be stale fuel, especially if the machine has been snoozing for a long time, as was mine (more than five years, even though it was garage kept).

Of course, there are many other possible causes, including lack of spark, but I'd guess that long idle machines just have bad fuel left in them more often than not.

My snow thrower was a hard case of that and we had to clean the carb and replace a fuel line. My tractor "get-er-goin'" started with pulling the fuel line, cleaning the filter and tank, and filling with fresh fuel--it then started right up!

Good luck!
