Hello.

I am looking to buy an older garden tractor for some vacation property we have in the mountains and have been looking into alot of the older ones. The property is about six acres, but only about 1/2 an acre has been cleared. The driveway is about 150 feet long and connects to a gravel road that is about 700 feet away from the township road.

I will need to cut the grass and plow from the driveway.

I have looked at some cub-cadet, wheel horse, allis-chalmers, and ford tractors. I think I have narrowed things down to a Ford LGT 14H and a Simplicity 7117. The ford will cost less, but will need work on the mover deck, replace the mower belts, possibly tires, and just some general maintenance. I won'y get to see the simplicty until Monday. Both tractors have wheel weights and snow plows.

Any suggestions on which to buy would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to MTF, glad to have you here. I personally believe the simplicity is the better choice.
