Just purchased a JD 2720.
Looking to stay informed of any issues/problems.
I'm close to getting 2520, considering 2720, help me understand reasons for getting slightly larger rig. I like the 1 inch extra ground clearance. But not sure if the added weight is a fair trade off. Also, what was the additional cost to step up from 2520 (if you were thinking of that rig). Thanks in advance and I'll be tracking this thread.

There is no size or really any weight difference between the 2520 and 2720. Just the jump from 26.5hp to 31hp and $1500. :fing32:

Looks like the 2720 just took over the lead position. I was considering the 1026R. I have flat level pasture land, no unused area to "reclaim". Ground clearance and soft wet Washington soil is an issue (7.7" vs. 13"). I want to be able to mound rows in the garden and cultivate between.

Looks like I'll be keeping the riding mower (JD GX245) and let the tractor be a tractor and the mower be a mower. Maybe in a few years I get the MMM and collection system, but I'm concerned at the weight on the lawn, soft soil and ruts. 31HP to mow is a bit overkill, for a 120x75 lawn. Thanks for the info, keep us posted on your machines progress to get work done.
