So about a month or so ago i bought myself a jd160 wanted something to mow my lawn that was about it. I have always been the type that when i buy something i research it see what i can find. In doing so i stumbled across this site and it has been all down hill from here lol.. Now i have this tractor itch that i cant get rid of. SO i went out and bought a 140 that i found online. Never seen one before gotta say its a bad *** little machine. Has a few thing that need to be addressed but i think all in all its a solid tractor. Just ordered a few things from keeping it green. Anyone know where i can find a muffler for it?

You could get a "pancake" muffler from any auto parts store. Nice machine BTW.

I don't know of any one remaking the mufflers but I think a stack with a rain cap would look cool on your 140.

This is so true Joe22883, exactly the same thing happened to me - this year after joining MTF:
- bought a Deere 318, sold a JD 165 Hydro, bought a GT262 (all in a few months time)
My recent tractor pics. were posted last night @ http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=135838

Thanks for the kind words, on my dobe - she is soooo humanized & loving / had her from a pup and I started training her immediately.
My Amy is 9.5 years old, and went through a life threatening operation, last year. I cried like a baby, until I brought her home from the Vets, the next day. Every night I ask her to pick a baby, and she finds a "stuffed toy" to take to bed. Just like a 3-4 year old kid, that won't grow up.
Simply love my dog...More pics. of her @ www.petperfectexpress.com

A 140 model JD is on my wish list now - just like the nice one you found, in your educated search.
- from your posted picture / I would say, "JD quality shines" / no matter how old

Hi Joe22883
When I was a kid, growing up on the farm, my dad got my brother & I a black lab pup. With the farm house close to the road, a week later, the pup got run over by a car, while my brother and I was playing football beside the house. My parents would not replace the dog and that was a hard lesson learned. Then when I was 17 years old, I saw the "doberman gang" movie, where these 6 dogs were trained to rob a bank, without people inside. I remember saying to myself - "these dogs are smart & I am going to get one as soon as I leave home". That basically started my dobe addition, as a family dog, but this time I became a trainer.

Your C-10 looks really MINT and these pickups are quite a classic today - ThkU for sharing pic. / brought back some old fun memories.
Plus 35 years ago, my neighbors dad got a new '68-70 Chev. truck, so off to the drive-in every Saturday night, we went. The oldest boy was 16 with a drivers license, my twin brother & I was 15 and the drivers brothers was 14, all crammed in the new pickup. As soon a we got into the closest town, off we go into the gas station for Colt cigars and wooden matches. Next stop at the drive-in, for 1 pass and 3 kids letting on there 12&under with free admission. That summer, all 3 of us kids got into the drive-in for free in the C-10 while one night the guy in the ticket booth said "we were going to drive him to drinking" and he was already hammered. We all had a good laugh, at that one.
I still remember the driver of this brand new C-10 sticking the wooden match on the dash panel cluster of the new pickup, along the black grainy texture. I personally didn't think this was a bright idea, as the match left burn lines on the black plastic instrument cluster. The next morning the drivers dad and owner of the brand new C-10 truck gave his boy s*** for being so inconsiderate with the new wheels.

My AMY cried 24/7 for me when she came out of last years most critical surgery. As soon as her IV ran out I took her home. The Vet's and staff liked her, but her constant whine/whine/whine for me was to much to bear. She just wanted to recover at home, never did liked being in a cage.
Her desire & fight to live, was a swift miracle (she went into septic shock on the operating table & the Vet didn't gave up either) & I got my old girl back after a 1 day stay, away from home.

Your 140 looks great, you will be able to do a lot with it.

And yes, the tractors will last forever with just simple maintenance.

Congratulations.

I agree with the way they look. It's just something about the lines on them as they look more like the old AG tractors. One day I hope to have a 140 H3. slkpk

Good luck with the 140, it looks to be in great shape. We have another member of the cult, now assume the position! Remember, when you are assessing the relative virtues of a new tractor purchase, the empty bank account, gauging the wife tolerance limit, endless hours wrenching, the correct answer is ALWAYS: "Thank you sir, may I please have another?!"

Great looking 140! Also looks to have a nice late model mower deck. Good luck with it and feel free to post a few more pictures.

Thanks-John
