A 60hp tractor won't even know a 5 ft is back there. My 850 (40+ hp) Ford with a 6ft won't even work the governor unless I happen to hit one of the super STEEP parts of the yard just right.
If it were me I would get one the same width as the tractor although I could trim best of all with the 6ft mower behind my 8N where I could see the corners of the mower.
