Unlike the guys who seem to find these for $300 I had to look at 3 to get what I wanted. The 1st 2 were junk which required a lot of replacement parts like hoods and grills.

The one I picked up today is at least an 8/10, better than my current G4200. 48 " deck and it mows like a dream. More importantly it is quieter and vibrates less.

One question :
My 4200 will drop to about 500 rpm and just sit there and "putt" when you pull the throttle down.

The 5200 doesn't like to go below about 1000 rpm and if you lower the throttle more it shakes and shudders terribly.

Do I need to adjust the throttle a little higher ? If so is there an easy way to do this or directions somewhere ?

I changed both fuel filters with no effect.

I have been using it and the idle seems to be getting smoother so I suspect old fuel and lack of use.

I have been running diesel cleaner/cetane booster through in the fuel.

Does it smoke, might not hurt to run some diesel additive thru it

How many hours on it?

Also pull the hose off at the filter near the motor and turn the key on to see if there is any fuel coming out

It smokes only for a second on start up. Only 1300 hrs.

I have additive in the fuel now. I may just run it some more since it seems to be improving with use
