I've got a buddy that invited me out to his place to look at his dad's old Gravelys. My buddy is in his late 50s, probably has a decade on me. But the barn his Gravelys are in needs to be pushed down so he wants me to see what he has Gravely-wise and what can be done with them.
There's a 1958 model with the high pressure oiling system. I had never seen one in person but based on what I had learned here on the forum, I knew just what it was when I started examining it. And there's '62 model that looks like an early serial number for that year. The manufacturing number plate starts with an E which I thought meant it was a '61 model.
But here the weird one of the bunch.
Looks like a Kohler, am I correct? I'm not familiar with the engine used when they went away from the Studebaker. Is this the engine? A lot of this looks pretty cobbled together, so I was wondering if dude's dad had just swapped in another engine.
