Well after looking all summer, I finally bought a new(to me) mower. As some of you know I had been asking ??? on the x300 series. I finally found an 07 x304 with a new deck and around 180 hrs. I finally decided to make the purcase, I could not be happier. It mows my yard very well!!!! I was curious though, the plastic on the hood is a little dulled, and i was wondering if their was anything to bring the shine back?? Or should i just leave it alone????

Congrats on your purchase/find! :thThumbsU I would apply a high-quality wax to the hood and other areas.
Well done hope you enjoy I also think a couple coats of wax should bring it back. I would try a marine cleaner wax first and then a coat of polish over that. If that does not work you can allways use pledge.
Klasse wax seems to be getting some good reviews on here. Not sure where you would buy it at. I use Mequires and I'm happy if the rain just beads up and falls off.
Congrats and enjoy it for a very long time. slkpk

If you buy the kit from KLASSE then the red bottle will bring it back better than new IMHO. Then seal it with the silver bottle.
Just "search" KLASSE and the thread will come up or Brian will tell you or Google it

Congrats on the new machine! looks like you got plenty of good advice on the polishing.
I have an old bottle of Eagle One wax/polish Would something like that work?? Its car polish, but i can not find if it has abrasives in it
congrats on the new X304, it's a great tractor!
Congrats on the new tractor! Good to hear that it worked out for you:thThumbsU
I have been reading about turtle wax Ice on this forum, and i have a few ??? Will it help the faded plastic on my x304 look better??? Will it damage the plastic on the hood??? Has anyone had any experience with it??
I don't think it would damage the plastic, but should only help it look better. I prefer Meguiars myself, but everyone will have a different preference. I'm not sure if the Nu Finish (bright orange can/bottle) is for plastic, but I thought it was for faded surfaces. I think most companies make something for faded finishes. I think Pledge furniture polish is popular for the plastic hoods also.

I answered the question. if $ is an issue get just the red bottle of Klasse ( 2 in 1) then "ICE it ( ALL OVER EVERYWHERE) before winter .
If you use an abrasive polish you could end up needing a new hood. There saved you more than the cost of the KLASSE!!
Ice is great but like most waxes just shines and protects what is already in good shape. If the PO had used any of the above mentioned product you wouldn't have had this problem in the first place
