My brother just picked up a small 1250 collection this weekend. He got a beautiful, all original 1250 that did not take much to go going. It is currently running.. My 1250 was a different story.
The man's father bought my 1250 in the late 70's, using all his attachments on it (3 point, sickle mower, deck, blower, tiller, plow, etc.). The tractor had a dealer replacement GREEN Wisconsin S-14D. In 1995, the motor gave the son issues, so he pulled the motor, pushed the tractor into the back of the barn with all the parts, and sent it to the local auto place for rebuilding. I have all the reciepts, and I took the head off the motor to verify, he put a new jug on it, bored .10, new piston, connecting rod, crank seals and bearing, splash plate for oil, valve job, and resealed motor. The motor has put into a box, and sat in HIS KITCHEN since 1996. We met up with the guy at the tractor show, and we acquired everything.
I have the motor ready to put in tractor, and the tractor has all new motor mounts, and is ready for motor. I put some other tires on the back, pressurewashed it, and removed the mickey moused choke and throttle cables. Should get the motor in tommorrow!

Sounds like a great find! :fing32: Pretty interesting the engine was rebuilt but never reinstalled.

You got some nice attachments there too.

Looking forward to watching the resurrection.

A fantastic find with all those attachments. Obviously gone to a good home to be rejuvenated.

Great find, especially with the Sickle-Mo. :thThumbsU
A sickle bar mower is invaluable if you have places that you can use it.

A bit of advice on using it. Haban recommended that you use a wheel weight on the left side.

I found that to be good advice as I found that the tractor does get a bit 'tippy' without that.

I had one before on a HT20. I will most likely put this sickle mower on my 1886 and paint it up. I have duals on my 1886 with weights so I wont be tipping at all.:fing32::fing32:

Yep, I can attest to the fact that duals will eliminate that :D :D :D

I feel that my 1250 is pretty much the ideal tractor for the Sickle-Mo though because they don't need all that much HP to run them.

Not to mention that it doesn't suck up the fuel like an 1886 will.

Motor is in, all new motor mounts and hardware. Motor is almost ready to fire, just need to get my head, since my brother had to use the head for his 1250 with another S14D. His head was cracked. Almost there! I used another drive shaft I had since the original had a broken fin.
