Hello-

I have a Briggs 14.5HP I/C Quiet vertical shaft engine that I am trying to install on my TORO ProLine walkbehind. Everything lines up fine and is bolted in, but I am not sure how the wiring should run? I have two wires that come off the valve at the bottom of the carb. On the other side of the engine, I have two wires that come out from under the red shroud. I am sure one goes to the coil, and the other....???

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!
Christian

the two coming from the carb are for the anti-back fire valve that shuts off the fuel at shut off (preventing shut off back fire), should be switched battery positive and ground. the two from under the shroud will be ignition ground (to shut off ignition) and charging system wire

Is there a pair to the left of the starter with a plug and another black one to the right of starter? If so black to right of starter is the coil kill wire. The pair to left with plug are from the alternator , one with a diode giving 12v DC to the battery and the other AC for the lights.
