Or at least the garden does!
Problem is a bent steel frame member on one of the cultivator tine units.
Is there a good way to remove the huge pre-loaded springs?
I'm concerned about getting them back in place.
Thanks,
Rick

Think I would use some threaded rod that would go though the spring, clamp it to one end and weld up some kind of hook that would slide up the rod as you turn a nut to take the spring tension. No matter what you do, do it carefully.

It doesn't look like it has very much stretch on it so you should be able stretch it back on with a piece of pipe. Slip the pipe in the loop and the end of it over the pin. Have some lube on hand and a dead blow hammer to coax it down the pipe.

All Great ideas!!!
Because of short strech(preload), I will try the pipe first. I'll let you know how it goes in a day or two!
thanks again,

ALL DONE!!!
Preload was intense, so I "streched" the springs by screwing in screws and driving in screw drivers to get some slack.
It was still tough to put back together, the pipe worked well. Except for the final part where I had to hammer the spring down the pipe right above my gonads!
Thanks Guys,
Rick
