Hey everyone. I needed rear tires for my "new to me" RER and went to tractor supply to get some tubes. While there I noticed the tires weren't priced too bad but I checked online out of habit while standing there and saw that Walmart had lowered the price of their tires to a crazy $16.65. I grabbed the tires that matched the pictured tread and tractor supply price matched. Went to discount tire and paid $8 for mounting, took the old tires to the dump myself for free.

Here's the Walmart listing. https://www.walmart.com/ip/HI-RUN-T...oydi8RK0Qqazo4Q0SxztJ1vKvXp9LhFxoCX3oQAvD_BwE

Great chance to get your mower ready for this coming year!

Schroll down on that link page and see reduced prices on about 3 pages of other size tires.

I didnt notice that! Even better for any others with a lawn tractor that may need tires! I bought two snappers (I will likely post about my newfound snapper hobby at some point after I figure out which of the two I am keeping) and I put tires on the one two weeks ago and thought I was getting a steal when I price matched at tractor supply the same tires but Walmart had them for 25 each. Imagine my surprise when I went in today to get tubes for and saw the tires were $16! Makes me very happy as whichever of the two I am not going to keep will be getting sold and I can advertise new tires when I planned on just mentioning the tubes. The tubes were nearly the same price unless I ordered online, especially when the current 30 year old tires are so bad and rotten.

My snapper rear engine rider. Those are the back tires for my particular mower (and most similar snappers I imagine). As Forest mentions, it seems they are currently having quite the sale on all sorts of sizes that most any mower would use.

Just a quick search on the Ariens GT20 (judging by your username) shows the tires to be: Lawn/turf front: 16-6.50x8. Lawn/turf rear: 23-10.50x12 So these tires I linked would be your front tires. Your back tires are larger.

I may pick up a few sets of tires in the 4Ply. I prefer 4 ply vs. 6 ply for load rating and sidewall durability to age and weather cracking.

Uh-Oh??????????

Heads up about wal mart on-line ordering of tires.

I order 2 of these tires on sale @ $24.42 from walmart at this link
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Carlisle-Multi-Trac-C-S-23-10-5-12/23597567

per the sale for Carsiile C/S 23/10.5 12 and received WRONG SIZE as two 16x6.50x8 with free Fed Ex ship to house. (the 16x6.50x8 are 16.65 on-line, MAYBE)

When I had wal mart employee search the online 23 inch wal mart part number (550463416) for the on line sale 23 inch tires they come up with the size I received at $35 each..

Long story short, the on-line wal martinfo is WRONG.

Tractor supply says they cannot match wal marts $24.42 price because their is $114 each for that tire.

I returned the 16x6.50 to a wal mart store for a refund. (did not have anything they would fit)

Oh no, not good. I wonder why Tractor Supply wouldnt match the pricing. Their website states very strongly that they refuse to be beat. https://www.tractorsupply.com/policies-information_customer-solutions_price-match Maybe a call or chat to their customer service would help. Seems like it was a bad call on the managers part to deny it.

I have had my own run ins with Walmart being wrong, especially since they have a "marketplace" where anyone can sell products and Walmart doesnt have to stand behind them.

Tractor supply indicated they would match if they had the exact same things. Their price was like $114 vs $25 dollars for walmart on-line tire but tractor did not have the exact Carlisle tire. Walmart in store employee said they could not re-order and they were struggling just to give me a return refund.
I suspect it was a marketplace seller on-line error. (I was not aware they allowed such. Probably copying Amazon sales. That is a good buy on the tire sizes you indicate with free ship to home if you buy two or free ship to store if buy one at 16.65. Good lawn tractor inner tube is $12 now days.

I ordered a set of 26x12x12 turf tires when this was originally posted. It took less than a week for them to be delivered to a local Walmart. Picking them up was simple. My only gripe was that they had not been stacked correctly, so they are a little deformed right now. I expect that as they get warmed up, they'll be fine. I don't plan to put them on the rims until Spring, so I'm not too worried about it. The beads are fine.

I ordered a set of 4 Hi-Run tires to fit a 318 for not a lot over $120. Last year I ordered the same tires from a local tire shop to put on a 425 and it was $200. Altho that included install. Not a bad deal on decent tires, thanks for the tip

The wrong ones that I received were deformed also, flat as pancakes.
I've seen such before and sometimes I have to install a inner tube into the tire and leave it in a warm place for few days and it will reform somewhat before trying to mount on a rim, especially a wide type rim. I keep a heads up on new pancake deformed tires because I've seen couple that had small puncture hole in the sidewall, not noticeable until mounted.
