My dad has a Scotts built by JD having hard time trying to get a filter,
Any help is appeciated. It is a Kohler motor 16 HP. still has the original filter. ( I think it is time for a total overhall). I Cut grass for him and it is a beast for his lawn,

A john deere dealer should have a pretty easy time finding you a filter.

I have the S1642H model which came with the 16 H/P Kohler Command in it. OEM filetrs are avaialbe most anywhere--but I, myself have always use
NAPA gold wth no problem ..........


NAPA number is 1348 (same as ny "Yota truck):fing32:

I hope he hasn't ruined the engine.......

Glenn thanks, It is the same motor. It does not smoke nor burn any oil. He did say he did change it once. Motor and tranny still run fine. Looks alittle weathered but looks are not everything.
