Your Snapper is what is known as a Series 6. The attachment below shows the electrical connections from the service manual and IPL.

I sell manuals. If you want a Snapper service manual I have them for a very fair price. Have Engine manuals too, all in PDF format.

The switch has 3 positions,"on",which disconnects the mag ground(M tab&black wire)and lets the mag work,"off", which grounds the mag through the switch body, and "start" which brings power up the red wire from the hot side of the solenoid,to the small start tab on the solenoid to operate the starter.all three wires come from the switch down the main tube, and exit forward of the engine.black connects to the ground post near the throttle, the red connects to the solenoid(along with the + battery cable) usually with a fuse holder, the blue wire connects to the small tab on the solenoid. The other red wire goes to the "Module" which connects to a "neutral switch" and a "deck switch".The deck switch is item 8 page 24 of the parts list, the neutral switch is item 19 page 6 parts list.
