There is a Massey Ferguson 1205 for sale just a few miles from my house. I've been looking at compact tractors to replace my old Melroe skid steer. New ones are too expensive as I'm retired. The 1205 has (stated )365 hrs and has only a York rake and looks to be in very good shape. I don't mind if I don't have a mower because I think 1500 lbs might be heavy on my lawn/ leechfield. I would however like an FEL by next spring. I would use it for snow removal either with a back blade or something I could attatch to the front, I'm guessing that my 6.5 ft blade would be too heavy. I would like to hear from anyone who knows this tractor and if it is sturdy and reliable. The asking price is 3250.00. Thanks for any input.

Can any of you Massey fans help Mike out with this tractor? Hopefully it's still there.

Sorry, I'm late to the party, but I have this model, so I'll post this in case the question comes up again.

I think this tractor is awesome. I have some limited experience on a kubota bx and I like this better. I find that the frame is just a little bit larger.

I pull a 14 inch one bottom plow, a 6 foot york rake, and a box blade with scarifiers with it, and it runs my post hole digger with a 9 inch auger just fine.

I also have the loader that I modified with a tooth bar and that digs like crazy.

It'll lift a full bucket of gravel without any issue.

The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't have a lot of clearance when the rake or the post hole digger is hooked up. You have to be careful where your driving when transporting either of these units.

If you can find one, they are usually a bargain. They only retailed for about 11500 back in 2000 with the front end loader and mower deck.
