Hello All,

The HOA where I live is thinking of buying a John Deere Tractor. They have one in mind and are trying to find out HOW OLD this tractor is. Can anyone here please help me tell the AGE of this John Deere Tractor and identify it ? (pictures included) I thought they said the tractor was a "2550." Thank you very much for your help.

That appears to be the engine plate? Is there one with the tractor serial number on it?
It is certainly possible it is a 2550. The 2550 tractors were made from 1983 - 1986, according to tractordata.com.

JWD, More important than the year of the tractor is the number of hours. Does it have an hour meter?

It could be 32+ years old, but only a few hundred hours, or 10,000 hours! Contact the owner and find out the "history"...heavily used? maintained? or? Bob

It looks like an old DOT (Highway Department) tractor used to mow along the roadside. It's quite likely to have a lot of hours on it.
