Need Help on 54" blade, quick hitch, and tractor shovel purchase

Hey guys,

I have someone offering to sell there used 2007 front quick hitch and 54" blade with power angle for $975. See picture below. It is off of a X720. I have a 2001 445. I know you can put a hitch from a 445 on to a X700 series, but not the other way around. I was thinking I could move the pins to the top and the bar to the bottom to fit my 445. I would have to grind out the factory welds, move them, and weld them back. Which I am capable of doing and have the access to the equipment. Do you think this would work??? Having a hard time finding a used front quick hitch for 445.

He also is trying to sell a front dethatcher, SC519 power flow unit, and tractor shovel. $1800 for everything.

I don't need the dethatcher or power flow unit, but would like the tractor shovel as it has already been mounted to the blade. Do you think that $1250 would be a fair price to offer for the quick hitch, blade, and tractor shovel??? From the pics, it does look like it has seen some use. Not sure how much the power flow unit goes for. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tyler

bargain him down a bit and buy it all and sell off what you don't want might even net you a better deal!

that stuff should be easy to move in indiana...
If you get it, let us know how the shovel works for you. I just bought a 54 blade with the intention of someday getting the shovel which my dealer seems to think is really slick on these big GT's. I just haven't seen or read much on them here, or anywhere for that matter.:thanku:
I just ordered my blade and it was just over $1400 with tax ,installation, and lockout valve. Is the seller in Indiana too? I would be interested in the dethatcher if it was in decent shape. I'm in IN too. The $1400 includes pick up and return btw.

I would buy it all and try re-selling it, but just don't have the cash right now. I have just enough to buy the front blade and shovel. I think $1250 is a fair price for the three pieces. Lately, everyone I try to talk about selling their used blade wants what they paid for it new. This stuff does depreciate in value.

I will sweeten the deal by telling him I know someone who might take the detathcer off of his hands, then he would only have the powerflow to sell. If it works out, I will get you his email dawdds

Take him the cash in hand and start out with 1100.00. give him the sob story and see what happens. Cash talks in this day and age. Good luck

I don't have my receipt handy but I paid $1280 or $1290 (including tax) for my 54" Blade, Quick Hitch and Power Angling Kit. That did not include installation, did that myself.

You must be friends with your dealer to get a price like that......

I have a dealer about 3 minutes from my house, buy all of my parts there. I got a quote for them for everything 1330 before tax, without installation. They are going to charge me $75 to ship it to the dealership. I thought that was outrageous. They claim it is a special item and not standard. I think if you buy the attachments there, they shouldn't be charging you to get the attatchment to the store. This dealership deals with large equipment, combines, etc and I am sure they don't care about the little guy, getting stuff for his lawn mower.

I will let you know if this guy and I come to a deal.

My dealer doesn't charge me freight on anything. They have many blade kits in stock, but the soft cab was something they had to order and I didn't pay any freight on it.
My dealer doesn't charge me freight. But other Customer's They do charge frieght Normally. See Deere doesn't Have it's own transport system anymore they mostly Use DORN Transportation to ship ther stuff & Dealers do Get charged Freight on attachments even tractors. Its not much But some Pass it on to there customers some don't.

:ditto: I know the JB Sr. is better, but I already have the blade and haven't seen a review here from anyone that has one.

I kept the front blade and quick hitch when I traded the 445 for the x748, if you were closer I'd trade you, either will work for me.

Yeah I think the JB SR. will actually dig, not sure about the Deere shovel. My dealer did say that he recommends the shovel for the x7s, but in his opinion the shovel for the x5s is a joke. Someone on here got one, but it may have been for an x5, but I never heard anymore about it. Hopefully this works out for the OP and he keeps us posted.

$1300? I must have gotten a deal. Have one on order (54 blade, quick hitch and angle kit) for $1000 delivered with my new X748. Expecting it in Dec. Dealer in MD, that deals with everthing green, big and small.

I just offered the guy $1200 for the hitch, blade, shovel, and tire chains. I will let you know if I get it, or if he counteroffers.

From what I have seen on the internet, the JB Sr. can dig some pretty good holes. I think if I would get this, I might think of making some teeth for the front the would bolt on/off to help with digging into the ground. I think they intend on people using them more for moving gravel, mulch, etc. We will see though.

I also tried getting the dealer to through in a set of 26 x 12 x 12 tire chains for that price ($1330), but they wouldn't budge on the price at all. Guess I will have to travel somewhere else when I want to buy a new tractor. (many years down the road).
